WHAT DOES A COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER (CHW) DO?
- Teach families how to look after clients who need physical care.
- Health screening and referral to the nearest clinic.
- Follow-up of clients referrals from the clinic.
- Help people understand and manage their illnesses
Our two Nursing Sisters, Sr Susan Swanepoel and Sr Nadia Boonzaaier have over 20 years Palliative Care experience.

Volunteers form an integral part of our service and they receive specialised training. Our volunteers work in harmony with the professional staff to provide support to the patient and their family. There is no area of Hospice where the expertise and enthusiasm of volunteers is not a valuable asset.
