Home Based Care

In 2004 Franschhoek Hospice saw the need for someone from our communities of Langrug & Mooiwater, to be trained as community Home Based Carers. Two people were identified, Anna Bester and Denzil Mahamba.

After doing an extensive survey of the area, Anna & Denzil started working for us in November 2004 and have become the professional Registered Nurses “eyes and ears” as to the needs in the community. Each one has between 12 and 17 patients, and they are supervised by the Nurses on a weekly basis. They also attend and help with Day Care on a Wednesday morning.

We often wonder how we managed without them!!!
